Pendant Lights — Single Points of Perfect Light

Frequently asked questions

How high should a pendant hang above a dining table? +

28–34 inches from the bottom of the pendant to the tabletop is the standard. This positions the light low enough to create intimacy over the table without obstructing sightlines across it. In rooms with ceilings higher than 8 feet, you can hang slightly higher — add approximately 3 inches per additional foot of ceiling height. All pendant drop lengths are adjustable at installation; confirm the minimum and maximum range on the product page of your chosen pendant from the pendant lights collection.

How many pendants should I hang over a kitchen island? +

For islands up to 4 feet long, 2 larger pendants (16–20" diameter) work well. For islands 5–7 feet long, 3 pendants spaced 24–30 inches apart is the standard. For islands over 7 feet, 4-5 smaller pendants create the most balanced arrangement. Choose pendants with a width roughly one-third of the island's length as a starting reference. Browse pendant lights and filter by size on each product page.

Can I use multiple pendants from a single ceiling canopy? +

Yes. All of our pendant lights can be configured to hang from a single ceiling canopy. Simply let us know the quantity and size of the pendants you'd like to combine, and we'll provide the appropriate canopy size and configuration. We offer round, rectangular, and oval canopies to accommodate a variety of layouts.

You can include your customization request in the "Add Customisation Request" box at checkout or contact us immediately after placing your order, and our team will ensure your fixture is prepared to your specifications.

Are pendant lights adjustable for ceiling height? +

Yes. All Zenduce pendant lights include adjustable suspension, allowing the cable or chain length to be customized during installation. The minimum and maximum hanging lengths are listed on each product page to help you choose the right fixture for your space.

If you require a longer hanging length than the standard option, simply add a note in the "Add Customisation Request" box at checkout or message us immediately after placing your order. Our team will be happy to accommodate your request whenever possible.

Can pendant lights be used as bedside lights in a bedroom? +

Yes, and this is one of the cleanest bedroom lighting solutions available. Hardwired pendants hung either side of the bed at the right height free up the entire bedside table surface and position light precisely at reading height. The ideal pendant bottom-to-mattress height for reading is approximately 18–24 inches. Browse our bedroom collection for pendants specifically suited to bedside applications, and pair with a dimmable variant for pre-sleep light control.

What's the difference between a pendant and a chandelier? +

A pendant is a single-shade or single-light fixture hanging from a single cable, chain, or rod. A chandelier is a multi-arm or multi-light branching fixture, typically with a central body from which multiple light sources radiate. Pendants are more precise and targeted in their light delivery. Chandeliers spread light across a wider area and carry more visual mass. For small to mid-size dining tables, a single pendant or a cluster of 2–3 makes a clean choice. For larger rooms with higher ceilings, a chandelier from our chandeliers collection will fill the space more appropriately.

Are Zenduce pendant lights dimmable? +

Select models are. Look for "RC Dimmable" or "Dimmable" variants on the product page. For dining and living room applications where mood-shifting through brightness control is important, always choose a dimmable variant. RC Dimmable pendants include a remote for direct control. Standard dimmable pendants require a compatible LED wall dimmer switch. Non-dimmable pendants output fixed light levels — suitable for utility applications but less versatile for living spaces.
